Welcome to a wonderful learning opportunity! The colors of the leaves are simply beautiful, aren’t they, but did you know, in order to be so, they have to die! Yes, that’s right, they have to die!
Chlorophyll in the leaves breaks down, the green color disappears and the yellow to orange to red becomes visible and gives the leaves part of their fall splendour! And did you know that Christ truly wants to bring beautiful colors to our lives too, but Christ tells us that we too have to die to get there (ouch)! Galatians 2;20, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
As we approach the fall season, here at Jubilee, let us ask Christ what needs to disappear, breakdown and die in us personally, so that His true beauty can be displayed to the world around us! This happens as we encounter the Word of God…those areas are exposed, and God helps us to “learn to die”.
Having said that, I encourage you to join us this fall, at our Tuesday Evening Bible Study/Prayer time as we dig into “The Lord’s Prayer” and let God do some “digging” inside of us! If you haven’t been in the habit of coming, now is a great time to start as we study the most famous and widely used prayer model of scripture…and together become the beautiful “Body of believers” Christ desires us to be!
